There’s something special about Crofton Academy. It’s the sense of belonging, the warmth of the people, and the shared belief that every pupil can achieve their very best. Staff Testimonials

    Mrs Clark (Behaviour Mentor)

I joined Crofton Academy in 2018 and from my very first day I felt welcomed and supported. It has become much more than just a workplace to me – it has become a community that I genuinely care about and am proud to be part of.

The school feels like family to me. The relationships between staff and pupils are built on trust, respect and kindness and there is always someone willing to offer support when it is needed. I have been fortunate to work alongside dedicated colleagues who share the same passion for helping young people to succeed.

One of the things I value most about Crofton is the belief that every pupil can achieve their potential. We have high expectations because we want the very best for our pupils, and it is inspiring to see the commitment shown by staff every day. Whether it is supporting a pupil academically, providing pastoral care, or simply taking the time to listen, colleagues regularly go above and beyond to make a difference.

Watching pupils grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and celebrate their achievements is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. Being part of their journey is a privilege, and it is why I continue to love working here. I am incredibly proud to be part of a school that puts its pupils at the heart of everything it does and creates such a warm, supportive environment for both staff and pupils.

    Mr Fisk (2nd i/c PE)

After six years in three other schools, I freely admit to everybody who will listen that I was considering leaving teaching before starting work at Crofton Academy. However, the past two years have been a reminder of why I went into teaching in the first place. The best things about working here are the pupils and the staff. Behaviour at Crofton is very strong with pupils who are polite, respectful and buy in to what is expected of them which means you come into work every day knowing you can teach with no issues and therefore then have the capacity to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try new things. The staff team are warm, kind and friendly and have fantastic relationships with each other and the pupils - there is always someone here that you can have a chat with or lean on if you need it.

Mrs Robinson (Subject Leader of English)

Having worked at Crofton Academy for nearly 13 years, I have seen the school develop and improve under the Trust. At the heart of what makes Crofton special is its unique family feel and strong sense of belonging among both staff and pupils.

I am proud to work alongside dedicated colleagues in the English department who go above and beyond with passion and enthusiasm to help pupils achieve the very best outcomes for their futures. As both a classroom teacher and middle leader, I feel supported and empowered to create opportunities for pupils to thrive, challenge themselves, and reach their potential.

Pupils at Crofton Academy are polite, welcoming, and genuinely care about those around them. I am proud to be part of the Crofton Academy community.

Miss Barton – Key Stage 3 Leader of History

I began my journey at Crofton Academy 5 years ago as a trainee, and from the very start I have felt exceptionally well supported. Throughout my ECT years and into my current role as a KS3 Subject Leader, the encouragement to grow and take on new leadership opportunities has been outstanding. The staff and pupils create a warm, close-knit community, and I truly feel privileged to be part of such a supportive and ambitious environment.

Mr Miller (Year Leader/Teacher of PE)

For over 11 years, I’ve had the privilege of being both a PE teacher and Head of Year at Crofton Academy, and I genuinely couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. Every day brings new opportunities to support, encourage and inspire our pupils, whether that’s in the classroom, on the sports field or through pastoral care.

What makes Crofton Academy so special is the incredible staff. I’ve never worked alongside such a dedicated and supportive team of teachers who consistently go above and beyond to provide the very best for every pupil. Their commitment, passion and willingness to give their all creates a positive environment where young people can thrive.

I’m proud to be part of a school community that values teamwork, high expectations and helping every pupil achieve their full potential.
