Crofton Academy is home to the Resource Base for Visually Impaired Children. This is a Wakefield Council provision that provides access to the curriculum for pupils with a visual impairment.
We strive to ensure that our pupils are fully included in academy life, thereby ensuring they leave secondary education feeling ready for the next step on their journey into adulthood. Our aim is to support them to develop skills, be that educational, social and emotional, which will help them to become as independent as possible, both in their learning and in their daily life.
“To ensure every visually impaired child reaches their maximum social and academic potential.”
“We recognise and celebrate the potential of our visually impaired children. We hold a strong commitment to providing a child centred approach to develop learning.”
